Cuba is a beautiful island located only 90 miles south of Key West in the Caribbean Sea. It is the largest island in the Caribbean with a length of 750 miles and a population of 11 million people. It has some of the most beautiful beaches, coral reefs, and tropical mountains in the world. Its population is generally well educated with one of the highest per capita level of medical personnel in the world. Cuba is generally considered the second poorest country in the Western Hemisphere after Haiti. 50 years of a Communist government and international isolation have hindered economic growth and development.LIM's Work in Cuba: LIM has been working in Cuba since 1993. Cuba has experienced a Holy Spirit revival since about 1991. Throughout these many years, LIM has developed a strong network of relationships with church leaders across the island. These relationships have allowed LIM to be involved in encouraging these leaders, providing for their physical and spiritual needs, facilitating church building projects, and conducting evangelistic outreach. Since the year 1999, LIM has been deeply involved in a sports, evangelistic ministry headed up by Osmani Sosa and his team. This evangelistic ministry now consists of 65 teams throughout the island from 12 different denominations. Over 40,000 people have made decisions for Christ during this time and several churches have been planted by their pastors coming from this ministry.
